BUCOVINA ULTRA ROCKS ® will show to the runners and supporters a magic, still untouched part of Romania, legendary Bucovina. Starting from Campulung Moldovenesc the event will start 6 races in the legendary area of Bucovina, the land of beech tree, in Rarau Massif area, not to high (1651m) but dramatic outcropping of the Eastern Carpathian Mountains that rises of the south of Campulung Moldovenesc (Suceava county) the very heart of Bucovina. Through dramatic vistas over steep and deep green valleys the 110k track is starting from Campulung Moldovenesc (ski slope Runc) and is touching several times: Rarau summit (1650m) x2, making a loop to Cheile Moara Dracului – Codru Secular Slatioara (UNESCO heritage), than heading to Pietrosu Bistritei summit (1793m) x1 from Zugreni old caban and Giumalau summit (1857m) x2 with a long loop around Codru Secular Giumalau through Valea Putnei, than back to the finish line in Campulung Moldovenesc but not before a final and brutal climb in Runc (400m in 1,4km). The BEAST race (the longest: 180km) will follow the same route but with a very long supplementary loop from Pietrosul Bistritei to Calimani National Parc with the highest peak: Pietrosul Calimaniului (2100m).

Ultra Rocks

Longest race track is starting from Campulung Moldovenesc (ski slope Runc) and is touching twice times: Rarau summit (1650m) with a loop to Cheile Moara Dracului – Codru Secular Slatioara, than heading to Pietrosu Bistritei summit (1793m) and also twice Giumalau summit (1857m) with a long loop around Codru Secular Giumalau, than back to the finish line in Campulung Moldovenesc with a last tough climb to already legendary Runc.

4 Summits track is starting from Campulung Moldovenesc (ski slope Runc) and is touching twice Rarau summit (1650m) with a loop to Devil’s Mills Gorge and Codru Secular Slatioara, than heading to Pietrosu Bistritei (1793m), to Giumalau (1857m) and than to Runc peak (1120m) last top stop on the way back to the finish line in Campulung Moldovenesc.

Lady’s Rocks

A classic loop between Rarau (1650m) – Giumalau (1857m). A little push at the end to Runc peak (1120m) in order to make it a challenge with start/finish Campulung Moldovenesc (Runc ski slope)

Rumble Rock

A very fast downhill race from Rarau* to the finish line in Campulung Moldovenesc (Runc ski slope).

BEAST 180

180k, 9630 D+/- , ITRA 6 points

Starting from Campulung Moldovenesc (center) and is touching twice Rarau summit (1650m) with a loop to Devil’s Mills Gorge and Codru Secular Slatioara (UNESCO heritage), than heading to Pietrosu Bistritei summit (1793m). Starting than a long downhill up to Paltinis village than heading to Calimani National Park: Iezerul Calimaniului peak (2032m)-Voievodeasa (1852m)- Bradul Ciont (1899m)- Ratitis (2021)- Negoiul Unguresc (2081m) and the last and highest point of the area Pietrosul Calimaniului (2100m). After this trip we go for a long route to Vatra Dornei through Rezervatia Naturala 12 Apostoli- ski slope Vatra Dornei. Crossing the town and heading Giumalau summit (1857m) than a nice forest route to Transrarau crossing to Obcini, downhill to Paraul Mesteacan than back to the finish line in Campulung Moldovenesc with a final tough climb on Runc (+400m in 1.4km).
